When I type greater than into the "compose" page, you should AUTOMATICALLY make that into & gt ; .

You should NOT turn it into ignored, poorly formatted html.

And when you force me by HAND to go in and type & codes into the HTML page you should INTERPRET THEM CORRECTLY in the "compose" window.

Argh.
