Bracing...

Entertainment Weekly blogged the 80's quiz: http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2008/05/80s-lyrics-qu-1.html#comments

Bracing for the emails complaining I counted off for spelling Jessie/Jesse with a small "j". (No, it's a computer based quiz. It's case insensitive. However, Rick Springfield decided how to spell the title, not I.)

Actually, reading the comments, a lot of complaints about "I made a typo! And it counted it wrong!" which makes me wonder how smart people think computers can be. It's not like I'm hiding in a box in the server really quickly reading the responses, "oh, they MEANT 'porno' not 'poron', give them that point...."

I love reading people's notes on the thing, but some of them frustrate me. :D

Aw c'mon, no EW readers left comments?! That's just wrong. Well, I'm the first, and let me say both thanks for the quizzes, and "ewww" for making me tear some hair out. =)

Also, because I'm a huge music geek (and just that kind of anal person), I thought I might help tweak the 90s quiz:

#10: The lyric is "At 4:30 in the morning I'm milking cows"
#31: The answer should be "Christmas" but it's only accepting "alone"
#43: I don't know this song, but should it be "in an old Chevrolet"?
#58: I believe it should be "said", vs. "say" (past tense)
#60: I think "subliminal" and "unthinkable" are also acceptable (from other verses)
#74: It looks like you meant to add a second blank at the end for "anyhow", but it can't be entered
#96: The answer "disappoint" is spelled wrong (as "dissapoint")

I hope I was more helpful than irritating...I just was so mortified at scoring so low that I had to correct the ones that I should have gotten right... =) Oh, and I found U2's "Numb" lyrics: http://www.seeklyrics.com/lyrics/U2/Numb.html

Okay, I'll leave you alone now, but thanks again for the fun!
