iTunes and the Darwinian iPod of Death

This is me, every day, at work.  Except take out the Skynard and insert something like Big Mama Thorton.

It's not just the pure randomness of the songs, but the sources of the files (Nina Gordon covering NWA? Say what?) and the intensely personal nature of the choices of what to put on the iPod.

I take it one step further... I load random stuff on the iPod, play it continuously on shuffle, then delete anything on the spot that a)annoys me b)distracts me too much or c)I realize on the 5,465th repeat has words I shouldn't be belting from my office.

Then I go add more random stuff.
