Note for Future DC Travel....

The taxi line at National Airport in DC will be approximately 100-150 people long at 5 PM on a weekday. And there will be no taxis in site for those people as they are all taking rush-hour people home.

You are better off finding dinner in the airport and relaxing for two hours, as if you take the shuttle because it has no line, it will just get stuck in traffic.
