Calling the Mothership...

If I call people at the extended branches of our organization, I need to dial 9, then 1 plus the area code.

Except our internal phone numbers also start with 1.

So anytime I forget to hit the 9, I dial the same extensions for a select set of poor saps who have the internal extension that is the same as the mothership's area codes.

I bet they get a LOT of those calls.

(I, myself, would be an international call and thus not subject to misrings.)
